Beacon Rock is on the north (Washington State) side of the Columbia River within what is now the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It was at Beacon Rock that Lewis & Clark detected tidal influence which told them they were near the Pacific Ocean. For some unknown reason Barchus did not paint this monolith often and very few have shown up on the market.
