This sign is of heavy paper stock and likely used as window signage where Barchus paintings were displayed and sold by the various store merchants, a common practice as there were no art galleries at the time.  Though the sign indicates that her works included scenes of Alaska, very few paintings of this state are known and limited to the area of the Inside Passage.
