Receipt Books (1900’s & 1910’s)
These receipt books cover two decades. The top has a preprinted date of 190_ while the lower is dated 191_. There are three sales recorded in the earlier booklet. The addresses indicate that the buyers were from North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. It is possible that the sales were made in the fairgrounds of the Lewis and Clark Exposition, where Eliza had a booth, as the fair was in its closing days on October 10, 1905, the date on one of the receipt records. (Another is dated September, with no year mentioned.) Oregon’s favorite mountain was popular then as it is now, as all three sales were of Mt. Hood!  Â
