A companion to Mt. Rainier #3, this painting of Mt. Hood at Sunset reflects the qualities of Eliza’s only known teacher – William Samual Parrott (1843 – 1915). She took only brief lessons from Parrott in 1884 before she commenced her professional artistic career.
