Multnomah Falls #1
Oil on Art Board   14 x 7
The artist stamp on the reverse of this painting indicates that it was created in the mid to late 1890’s. The delicate feathering of the water spray as it falls from the basalt cliff gives an appropriate airy feel to the painting’s atmosphere. The bridge across the lower falls is the original wood constructed crossing, which was replaced years later with the cement “Benson” bridge.
