Mt Rainier #5

This large painting depicting Mt. Rainier is documented as being part of the family collection that was sold to Cleveland, Ohio, collector Joe Erdelac. An unusual feature is the prominent silhouette of the mountain in the calm foreground water. The frame, in all likelihood, is original to the painting though they had once been separated only to be recently reunited. A paper label adhered to the back stretcher bar, which is similar to other labels found on a few Barchus paintings give the date of 1911 for the creation of this painting.
