Close observation of this painting will yield an interesting surprise. In the lower right, one finds not one but two ‘Barchus’ signatures. One other example of this has been seen over the years, also on a similar painting of Mt. Rainier. Maybe two signatures meant that she was exceptionally pleased with this painting!
