Promotional Signage #3

Eliza R. Barchus - Advertising Sign #6

This sign promotes the sale of her postcards – Mt.Hood, Mt. Rainier and Crater Lake. These were first created soon after the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition by gluing unsold lithographs of her paintings to a blank postcard. Though some versions were reordered over the years, many were still unsold after the artist’s death. Today, the postcards sell for more than the 5 cents and 10 cents noted here!
