This sign is of heavy paper construction. Several examples are known to exist but it is unknown when or where Mrs. Barchus would have utilized it to secure painting sales. However, it is known that Barchus did display her work in merchant windows, as was common during the period, so likely these inexpensive signs were used to direct window shoppers in her direction.
