This wonderful and early painting of Mt. Rainier at Noonday is one of a pair painted on concave metal plates.  (See Mt. Hood #3 for the companion piece.) The small brushstrokes, mossy rocks and delicate working of paint reflect her learnings from her only teacher, William Samual Parrott.
