Eliza’s paintings of Multnomah Falls can easily be divided between those executed before 1914 and those after. In that year the cement “Benson” bridge was constructed, which is reflected in this painting. Earlier paintings portray the earlier wooden bridge that crossed the lower falls. Even today Multnomah Falls , dropping 620′, is one of Oregon’s most visited tourist attractions.
